    Hello,

I am progressing into an intermediate schedule and the plan is to follow the Texas method from Practical Programming. How should reps and sets be spread through the week for deadlifts, cleans, and snatch? Currently DL is 1 set of 5, and clean/snatch is 5 sets of 3.

Current assistance exercises are a chin variant (hammer, pronated or supinated) and leg raise/weighted sit-ups. Alternating each session: 1) supinated chin and leg raise, 2) pronated chin and sit-ups, 3) hammer chin and leg raise, 4) Supinated chin and sit-ups, etc.

    Examples from PP:
    Squats
    Day1 5x5 (previous Day3 + 5lbs)
    Day2 2x5 (80% of Day1)
    Day3 1x5 (Day1 + 5lbs)

    Press and Bench
    Day1 Press 5x5
    Day2 Bench 3x5
    Day3 Press 1RM, 2RM, or 3RM

    Snatch/Clean
    Day1 ?
    Day2 ?
    Day3 ?

    Deadlift
    Day1 ?
    Day2 ?
    Day3 ?

    Thank you.

Here's an article that addresses the original set-up of the Texas Method:

And here's one that expanded on it with 12 different tweaks/setups that work depending on a specific lifter's circumstances:

Sorry to assign you homework, but spoon-feeding you a simple answer would be a disservice.

For the squat, day 1 and day 3 are independent progressions.

    Day 1 = 90% Day 3 for 5 x 5.
    Day 3 = 5RM
    Day 1' = Previous Day 1 + 5 lbs.
    Day 3' = Previous 5RM + 5 lbs.
