    Default GOMAD and Old Farts

    My wife really appreciates these kinds of diets. I suspect that I might be banished to the couch for quite a while.

    I'm hoping to start a SS type program early in the new year once I get my joints stable ( I usually need 12-16 weeks of careful lifting before my shoulders are strong/flexible enough to do much without turning into another useless bought of tendonitos.)

    At 40 and a bit I'm less than sure that I have the ability to turn a Gallon of Milk a Day into muscle.

    What's your recommendation?


    I previously found great early success with a 5x5 variation but my strenght outpaced my tendons.

    I recommend that IF YOU NEED TO GAIN WEIGHT, you do the GOMAD thing. I have NEVER recommended it for everybody. NEVER, EVER have I said that everybody needs GOMAD to do a linear strength progression. NEVER. Anywhere. Read the book, not the internet, and we'll all be happier.
