    What is the best way to deal with illness and training, speaking in terms of cold and flu season? I typically feel good working out but awful afterwards.

    I wouldn't, if only for the common courtesy of not infecting the entire gym. Take the time off to get over your cold faster and then get back to hitting the weights, IMO.

    True. But if you workout at home, I see no problem with working through a cold. But the flu, that is another story.

    Make sure you get more than enough food and water. Vitamin C supplements and that airborne stuff help too..

    I don't train when I'm sick unless it's it's really light illness.

    starting strength coach development program
    I trained with a moderate head cold a few months back, and felt really strong in the gym and recovered from everything fine. However, I definitely wouldn't be training if I had something potentially serious like an influenza virus or bacterial chest infection etc.
