    Default Costochondritis and SS?

Well, I've been on SS for about six months, put on a reasonable amount of muscle mass (although not as much as I'd like ) and I began having pain in my sternum/ surrounding rib cage area for the last 3-4 weeks. I went to the doctor and after chest x ray blood work, ekg, the diagnosis came back as costochondritis, a benign inflammation of the ribcage.

The cause... getting huge and lifting big. Thanks doc.

Seeing as we live in a wacky world where doctors have literally no idea about weightlifting or other exercise, I would like to know your experience with this (apparently rather common) condition in your 27+ years of barbell coaching.

    Specifically, in your experience.

    Should I lay off?

    Will this be chronic?

Will this be progressive if I continue to do Upper Body Workouts?

Thanks alot Coach, the sad thing with this condition is that alot of my initial inspiration in the durability of the human body is beginning to wane...

This shit happens, and will continue to happen as long as you train heavy and go to the doctor. How much ibuprofen/fish oil are you taking?
