    Hey Rip,
I mentioned in another post that i just got some Do-win weightlifting shoes. I've used them on the last two work outs (last one done about 24 hours ago) and am experiencing some serious DOMS in the calves of all places. Are the shoes responsible for that? I didn't back the weight off as i didn't think it necessary.

Never heard this. Possible I suppose, because ankle mechanics are changed a little. Are you worried?

Not really, was just curious if you'd seen it before. I'm sure i'll adapt to it after a few workouts. I'm assuming its from the squats (yesterday's WO being squat/press/powerclean)

I think you'll be okay in a few weeks.

I would guess that it’s probably more from the powercleans, right, Mark? A change of shoe could definitely effect the calves quite a bit on the jump. Not that it matters.

Well, the heel would actually shorten the ankle ROM a little, so I don't know that it's the cleans, if he's even doing them. Like I said, I've never heard of the addition of a heel making your calves sore. But as you say, it's merely a curiosity unless it turns into cancer or something.
