General Info: Male, 5”8 28 yrs. old 195 pounds. Before SS I weighed 160 pounds. Have been “working out” for about a year, but about five months ago read your book and transitioned to train my squat and DTMFP. Have been doing SS for about 4 months now. My best lifts are: Squat 255, Deadlifts, 295, Press 155, Bench Press 215 and Power Clean 185. Currently on de-load (working my way up again) on squats and deadlifts. Currently Squats @240 and deads @265. Coming back from a shoulder injury, (nothing serious) so bench currently at 190 and press @ 130. Never miss a training session.
Chief compliant: My testicles hurt when I am coming out of the hole on squats.
Narrative: This past Monday on my workout I was supposed to do Squats @240, Bench @190 and Deads at 275. Missed last set on Squats after the third rep. And deads only got 3 reps, the fourth didn’t move at all. I usually do my training at around 4-6 pm. Due to work schedule change switched this week to training in the morning. I had roughly 36 hours of rest between last training session and the one today. Today I was feeling pretty good. Was sure that I was going to make it at 240 on squats. Warm up as usual and felt great, good technique, good depth. On my first set of Squats at 240 first rep, when I sit back I felt pain, to be precise on my balls. It felt like somebody was pulling them down. This happened as I was going up. I shook it off and did the second rep. No issues going down, but as soon as I stopped slightly below parallel and began the ascension the same pain. This time it was a shock-like pain. I proceeded to the third rep and had to call off the set due to the pain. Walked around for a bit, did some air squats, no pain. Didn’t feel a thing. Rested a couple more minutes and tried the second set. First rep same shit, but I did notice that when I am moving back up the pain got worse when I keep my chest up. On the second rep when going up I leaned forward more (basically my chest collapsed down). Now, I could get the bar back up (with difficulty) but the pain on my balls was not so bad. Stupidly I tried a third rep. Tried to keep my chest up and missed the rep, had to drop the bar to the pins due to the pain. I lowered the weight on the bar to 215 and did a set of 5. With a lower weight on my back I tried to pinpoint the pain. I kept perfect form throughout and noticed (ok I am going to be a bit graphic here, this is hard for me too so please bear with me) that although my balls hurt the pain also is felt in area between my asshole and balls. Is like a tearing sensation. Again, like somebody is pulling downwards. Now I was nervous at this point, but stubbornly I started the warming up for the press. When I hit my work weight I felt a slight pain on my abdomen, specifically just under my navel, left side. I decided to stop the session. The pain on the abdomen went away but a tingly sensation lingers, just under my navel. Before I went home I did a set of dips to see if it bothered me. It didn’t. Then I did pull-ups and it bothered me a bit (abdomen). There is no pain at all when I press down with my fingers in the abdomen. Is this something to worry about? Is it advisable to wait a couple of days and try again and see how it goes? Or is it better to wait a couple of days and try with light weight os something similar? Thanks in advance coach.
Pain(1-10): 4. Not very severe, but enough to not let me continue with good form. Not to mention… is in my balls.
Symptoms during the day: Nothing significant really, other than a bit discomfort. Haven’t noticed any swelling or change in color or bruises.

Wow that was a quick response. Awesome. Thanks a lot, coach, really appreciate it. So does this means I am probably fucked? I will schedule an appointment ASAP. And is probably dumb to ask this but umm.. can I keep lifting like this? Or more specifically, what can or can't I do? I will literally go nuts without lifting.
    This sucks...
    Edit: Forgot to ask.
Is there any other possible cause to this other than a hernia? Could it be just a pull? Or something which does not requiere me being too long away from the bar? This is more the for the sake of my piece of mind.

Wait.. pain in the balls AND the abs? Me too!
I know for sure that I have an inguinal hernia, but I believe I ALSO have an abdominal one:

How does this relate to yours?

I also feel the abdominal one during presses and pull-ups... feels bad man.

Search the site for hernia. Tons of information.
