    Coach Rippetoe,

I recently purschased your book, PPST book. I want to try the Texas method. I want to concentrate on the big 3.

My best lifts are Bp 290, Sq 390, DL 390

Do you think I am ready to try the Texas method with these lifts?

What would be a good template to follow to improve the big 3?

    How about

    Mon
    5x5 CGBp, Sq, Rack Pull

    Wed
    3x3 Press, Front Squat, Cleans??

    Friday

1x3,2 or 1 CGBp, Sq, Halting DL

I am sure that this template would need some tweaks, any suggestions?

I also would like to do prehab work, any suggestion on what days would be best to do that or does it matter?

    Thanks for your time.

Looks fine, and your lifts indicate that you're probably ready. But why the close-grip instead of the regular grip bench?

I chose close-grip because it works triceps more and always increases my bench.

Do you think doing the regular bench would be better?

What days would be good to do external rotation work, prehab stuff?

    Thanks.

That's fine with me. I don't bench at all myself, so I'm not insulted. And external rotation stuff is highly overrated, especially if you're pressing heavy anyway.
