SS and power cleans
My second run at SS novice program - first go was stopped due to injury (8 weeks - ouch) but now sorted.
I have always done rows instead of power cleans - they just looked to complicated.
This time around I have been working on bar-only/light power cleans while still doing rows (current work sets at 220lb)
Yesterday I finally put some weight on the bar (not much - 10kg each side) and tried power cleans. Not only was it fun, it also really got my heart going, heck, there was even sweat!
Today, I actually hurt. I only wish I had started doing power cleans earlier.
Morale of the story: If you are avoiding power cleans because they look too complicated, don't! Get into them..what an awesome exercise!!
(if this makes sense, they feel like a 'grown-up' exercise, lol)
