    Hi Everyone,

Could you please help me figure out what I'm screwing up so badly that I can't get past 150lbs on my power clean?

    Here's a set of 3 @ 135lbs.

Rack position looks goofy. Try to get your elbows up higher and the bar on your deltoids and out of your fingers.

Agree with blu - this is not really a rack position. You are holding the bar in your hands as if preparing to do a press. :-) You can try practicing the rack position separately to get a feel for it.

Same comment as on your deadlift - please show your entire setup, from the moment you approach the bar.

I was so focused on the pull, I didn't even consider the rack position. I'll focus on the rack position and nail it down.

It's going to feel weird. Remember, your hands shouldn't be holding onto the bar when racked in a clean. your finger tips will be pinned under the bar when it is resting on your deltoids. Also, trying to rack an empty bar or supremely light weight can be difficult.

Maybe 115lbs might be good to practice with then? Considering I'm struggling with 140lbs.

It looks like you're pausing at the jumping point. Think smooooth acceleration up to the jumping point, then explode without pause. Pausing is sucking your energy. Look at your last rep--you barely "rack" (rack in quotes since as noted above, that isn't really a rack) it and in fact are nearly reverse curling it. The pause is most apparent on this last rep. Also note your bar path--it curves away from you slightly after the jump. It looks like your arms are straight and you're right over the bar at the jumping point, which is good.

Fix the rack, fix the pause. Keep at it! Resetting to the weight is a good idea, too.

    Howdy!

Here's my pitiful power clean again... In this, I tried to fix the following:

    1) Rack Position
    2) Don't pause

    I also reset to 115lbs.

Has it improved at all? Am I on the right track?

    Rack looks a lot better.

You're rushing a little off the floor. Take it a little slower, then JUMP when you get to the jumping position. Once you've got a feel for that, start thinking about accelerating into the jump.

    NB: I'm terrible at cleans.
