Anybody interested in giving a couple of Marines that are flying up from Camp Pendleton a ride to the event and or lodging? Also any hotel recommendations that are close to the venue gym? Trying to avoid a rental car if possible.

I'd give you guys a ride to the meet. The gym is in Emeryville which has a lot of hotels, they may be a bit pricey but this can be offset some by the fact that if you do stay in Emeryville you can walk anywhere for food. Also look into the Lyft or Uber apps to get rides if you need them, these are so big here that you will never have a problem finding a ride. Are you flying into SFO or OAK airport?

SFO. Looks like uber/lyft cab is probably the best way over, public transportation ends just before we arrive. Thanks for the info.
