Have squatted deeper without a bar on your back? Like when you sit on a chair but NOT flopping down into it?

I am unsure why I can't get to parallel. Advice welcome. Thank you.

You are using to much weight and it's distributed on your heels. Get your weight over mid-foot. Get a piece of wood, if you can't a foam roller will have to do. Place the object an inch or so infront of your toes. As you squat down make sure your knee touches the object but doesn't knock it over. Review this in the book and it will help you greatly.
I do a modified version of these stretches.

Thank you Sean, Nick and medenacart. Today I started off sitting on a low stool and leaned forward until my butt came off the seat. This put me in a better position than I have ever achieved before. I felt very tight in the hips when I did this so will do the suggested stretch. I also will try the TUBOW! I also think I over extend my thoracic spine. I will work on all these points and post a followup video. Thanks for your help!
