I want to get your guys opinions on how long is permitted for rest between reps on the deadlift. I am having a hard time getting my reps because of exhaustion (It's not muscular exhaustion but cardiovascular). I have had to deload from 225, and even at 205 I am am having difficulty. I am at the point where I am taking 20-30 or more seconds between reps just so I can get all 5. Is there anything detrimental in doing so?

Taking too long between reps, especially if you are holding on to the bar while bent over, will only serve to exhaust you further. Get them done as fast as you can without bouncing the bar, or sacrificing your setup. What are your relevant stats - gender, age, height, weight, etc?
