1000 and beyond
I've decided to start a log on here after seeing how effective it is for my roomate.
I started the novice program back at the beginning of spring and was progressing nicely setting PR's and drinking tons of milk and eating steaks for breakfast. Then I got sent away for work for the summer and acted like a pos, my bad. So I'm back at 'er now and have set goals for 1000 in the big 3 by April 1st.
stats - 6'2" 205
old pr's before i sucked this summer
backsquat - 215x5x3
deadlift - 295x5x1
Bench - 185x5x3
press - 125x5x3
powercleans i sucked at and always had to work on form
pullups & chins 6xbw
So I've reset everything and will be starting from scratch.
Todays workout
Squat - 170x5x3
I've been working on my form hard and these felt good today
press - 120x5x3
bit of a problem with bar path and my breathing, its being corrected though
Chins 4/3/2 these are the bane of my existence, I hate them more than Joe Buck.
Looking forward to contributing and getting better.
edit: I forgot to rate my workout for fun. Todays will be rated by Skoal tins.
and its 3 tins/5 felt good lots of energy, but ultimately I've done these weights before so I can't go higher

Good day today, had a great sleep and a good breakfast . On to the lifts
Squat 175 - 5x3
felt good again no problems
Bench 175 - 5x3
getting hard, had problems with form but my buddy was helpful to correct it
powercleans 115 3x5
these felt awesome today cant wait for next time
in honour of the Jets game tonight i give this work out 3 rex ryans/5

felt good again today, form was good and i cant wait to start getting up into my old numbers.
overhead press

awesome, tied my old pr no problem-o
pull ups
terrible, 3x3x3
overall felt great today, ate lots and my weight is up to 210. Off for chicken wings now
3.5 skoal pucks/5 rating today, due to matching my old press pr

Friday Oct 15th '10
Good sleep last night and I only spent about 45 min at work today (god bless the army), so i got tons of rest and ate a bunch before the work out. Felt great going in to 'er.
Squat

I want to jump up higher so much but I realize it would only hurt my progression in the end, so I will just keep at er day by day
Bench

Fuckin' hard today!. Got the 1st set out nicely, but on the 4th and 5th reps of the 2nd set I thought I was done, it took a lot out of me to get them up. 3rd set surprisingly went better than the 2nd 5th rep was a hard one. Next bench workout will be awesome to give it everything i got.
Deadlifts

This was actually the first deads day I had since being back at 'er, 255 felt harder than i remember but I got them no prob. Went overhand grip for now until it gets harder.
Overall I felt great today, had a great day and an awesome workout plus the Sens won last night so I'm going to rate this as
3.5/5 Mike Fishers today.
Time for a double meat sub and a giant dip of skoal!

Awesome! 1st set was hard to pull off, but my second and third went well. I dont know why my first set always seems harder, but whatever works is good for me.

Oct. 20th
When i went to sleep last night i was stoked for today possible bench pr and a power clean pr i wanted today to be awesome, mixed results followed. Slept in too long to get a proper breakfast this morning but I had a good lunch to try and make up for it. Work today was boring and I was zoning out a lot. Didn't feel a lot of energy today is basically what I'm saying
Squat
195x5x3
fucked up a lil' on my first set and stepped forward on the way up on my last rep. This was due to me being dumb and leaning/starting to walk forward to rack the bar while still going up. Lesson learned.
Bench
PR day right? wrong
190 x 4 failed on my first set! My buddy says my bar path is all messed up, elbows flaring out, bar moving all over. Time to take a serious look at my mechanics for bench
155x5x2 used this to try and get a better feel for a proper path
I dont really know what to do here, I will probably end up backing off to 170 or so and work my way up again while focusing on my form a lot more.
Power cleans

wow i was happy with this today, after failing on my bench i think i took out my anger on these. Got pretty tired on my last two sets but I still squeeked er out.
Overall not bad today, didn't feel the energy i would normally have for a day like today I don't know why but I wont make that mistake again. Next time I will decide to be better and make it happen
3/5 today power clean saved it.
