This is me, finally getting a measly 40kg press. This was my target to hit in my first few months of training, but its taken nearly two years! Still its fantastic I have progress again, (was stuck at well below this for aggggees) but some switching around (pressing 3xweek) and things are finally moving. Now, I only need to double it to hit BW!!

    First set accidently push pressed:

2nd set, super strict, only 1 rep!

Dude, get your head under the bar!!!! You've got another 15lbs in you if you do that! Don't watch the bar. As soon as it is at the top of your forehead get it over the crown of your skull (by moving forward, not moving it back) and press like a mofo.

    That looked tough :-)

Congrats on the progress, and way to grind it out. That said, you could put more weight on that right now if you cleaned up your technique. Your grip in particular is making it way more difficult than it has to be. Straighten your wrists out and get your forearms under the bar instead of way in front of it.

This is good advice. As soon as the bar clears your head you need to get under it.

Get the bar directly under your forearms. You seem to be pressing with your hands back.

I used to find that when I reached my limit I would hesitate to get under the bar. Nothing assures my failure more than that hesitation. Get under it and it will go up.

Yeah. Although, conversely, it sucks mightily to have a rep fail and ever so slowly ease it's way to a stop on your skull. My fireplug filipino friend had a good time with the knurling-tattoo I had on my bald head.

So do the first, but don't do the second.
