A follow-up to the first article, this is a collection of quotes about training from his son's recollections. There is some important material in here, so don't miss it.

All I can say is wow! I was touched by part 1, Mike sounded like a great man who knew alot about strength and conditioning. I am not american and dont know much about foot ball, but I wish I knew or met him.

Thank you very much Col and Rip for the articles.

So much wisdom and also similarities with what Rip is trying to get across.

A great read, I'm gonna print and hang up some of those quotes. He was a very insightful man.

Also I particularly loved the last quote about heroes.

    Thanks for sharing it.

Great article. I was feeling a little bit of a rut with my bench plateauing a little bit but articles like this help a lot with realizing that's going to happen in time. Thanks again Rip.

His advice helped me stay with it through many a plateau. Its like working, you've got a paycheck coming, even if the money isn't in your pocket right now.

Thanks to Mark and Colin for this; truly inspiring stuff. As a life-long Cowboys fan, it's never been easy to speak well of any Steelers, but Mike Webster is the exception, he was a great player.

Very inspirational article even for someone across the pond who'd never heard of this guy. Reading his quotes I see a lot of 'Rip' and 'Broz' in there. In an alternate reality there could've totally been an influential strength training book called something like 'Lifting Iron with Mike' with ditto website and community. Damn shame it didn't come to pass.
