same-day deadlift and squat progression
Hey Andy,
Older (48yo) novice lifter here, still chugging along on my linear progression.
Over the course of my LP I've cut deadlifts to once-per-week, but when I try to progress on both squats and deadlifts on the same day, recovery is a big problem - to the point where it messes up my next couple of workouts.
It seems like my 3 best options are:
a) don't squat on DL day
b) only do 1 top-weight squat set on DL day
c) do three sets of squats at DL day, but keep it at (just to throw out a number) 80%
At some point, when my LP runs out, I expect I'll switch to an HLM program, but I want to keep it linear for as long as possible.

Deadlift on Weds. Prior to Deads, either do a light squat or don't squat at all. Continue LP on Squats on Mon/Fri
