Back story..
Age 29, 6’ tall 230lbs about 20%bf
Started a TM style program a few weeks ago.. using 3’s instead of 5’s… Why? I could come up with some sort of intellectual sounding rationalization, but we’ll just leave it as, because I felt like 3’s and it stuck…
Training history leading up to program..
Coming off a 6 week layoff due to a flare up of an old disc related back injury. I spent 3 weeks using linear progression to get things back to normal.
Prior to injury.. progress stalled after about 6 months of linear progression. Before that… 100% crossfit. I realize this is generally frowned upon around here… but I’m sure you can find a way to deal with it.. Before that I did your typical bodybuilding style split routines… prior to that..5 year stint as an mma fighter which included crossfit style conditioning..
I also throw in 1-2 brief conditioning sessions (WODS.. GASP!!) per week, because I still like to get tired and sweaty from time to time.
Numbers before layoff..
Squat 385x1
Press 175x1

Also, I work about 60-65 hours a week, spending about 90 percent of that time on my feet.. and have a 2 month old baby at home. So needless to say, time and energy are a bit limited.
