I had a little miscommunication with my coach. I thought Saturday was going to be our first session back, otherwise I wouldn't have hit the gym in the morning. Anyhow I got the text yesterday mid afternoon that we were on for 6 pm.

No belt + 3 sec pause.These were brutal. Coach had us go wide stance which fried my hip flexors. Box started at about 16" but was lowered by 2" after every second set. So the final two sets were at 12".

So my coach rolled out the game plan for the next 13 weeks until the next meet. We're going to run a modified block periodization. The accumulation phase will be around 8 weeks. We'll alternate two workouts over three sessions a week. The above is workout A, adding either weight or volume weekly. Workout B will involve a shit ton of front squats in the 50-70% range and board presses. After a week or two we'll add some GHR's and kettle ball swings, with an occasional heavy pull thrown in. Overall I'm looking forward to it.

Took a mini vacation back to my home town to visit family and friends. Bros invited me to their MMA gym, my old one, to grapple. I learned two things, I'm in terrible shape but still know a thing or two.
