Default Aleli's Log - Zen Barbell Training

    • starting strength seminar december 2024
    • starting strength seminar february 2025
    • starting strength seminar april 2025
    Female, 34, weight 138 pounds, height 5'1"

I told my husband that if he started a log, I would move my log from the SS section to the competitive section. 4 months later, I'm keeping my word. lol

    I've entered two meets:

    APF/AAPF Summer Bash- 8/3/2013
    Weight Class: 148
    Weight: 144
    Squat: 187.2 (85Kg)
    Bench: 104.5 (47.5Kg)
    DL: 225.7 (102.5Kg)
    Total: 517.4 (235Kg)

2013 APF IL Raw Power Challenge - 12/8/2013
    Weight Class: 148
    Weight: 136.4
    Squat: 203.7 (92.5Kg)
    Bench: 110 (50Kg)
    DL 236.7 (107.5Kg)
    Total: 550.4 (250Kg)

My next meet will be the 2014 APF/AAPF Summer Bash in August. The goal is to compete in the 132 weight class.

I tend to let my nerves get the better of me when lifting heavy. This really impacts my performance, especially on squats. I've been working on approaching my lifts with a calm assertive attitude. Allowing my mind to believe my body can accomplish the lifts. My main goal is to keep having fun and not let anxiety rule.

Yes! I liked my old log, but this is a good time to change it up a bit. Hope I can continue to update my lifts and move up in the rankings. Thank you for encouraging me to post my lifts there!

Good thing that you posted a link from your old thread. I almost lost track. Good lifts. Fino noted that you well exceeded 200 on the Squat. Good for you. I also noticed that he has a DePaul shirt. My wife has a Masters degree from DePaul. I'll follow your log here.

Hey Aleli! I like your log title. I can relate to squat anxiety. Good luck channelling calm assertiveness while you lift.

I reviewed my log and I actually did lift 215 on the DL for one rep.

Thanks, Viola! My level of zen was really tested today. I'm improving though.
