The bar and plates were set up to emulate the Arnold Classic Deadlift Event.

remember that fucking thread that had a huge discussion about trying to model how using bumpers make the pull easier because it increases bar deflection and consequently a shorter rom... well that brian shaw video is like that times 1000 because its a super fucking long bar.

Impressive no doubt, and am taking nothing away from him, merely point it out.

He's practicing what he will face at the Arnold this weekend. A long bar will be used.

Yeah, hugely impressive but I don't agree with Mark Bell comparing it to Benedikt Magnusson or Andy Bolton's deadlifts on standard bars/plates and no straps.

Comparing it to Magnusson's 1015 raw, strapless deadlift in competition is just asking for a million comments that start with "WELL ACTUALLY..."

Was a video where he was doing warm ups with furious Pete. At one point they had 45s loaded properly , then 100s on the outside edge sandwiched between two collars. Very interesting technique for deflection.

    dont get it.
    why the long bar?
why the long bar at the arnold?
this is like the strongman deadlift with all the huge trucktires on the bar . . .bar still bending while the lift is half over.

I'd say the video that Izzy posted last week of the CF'r deadlifting 800 w/kook grip at around 200#BW more impressive.
