    Default Advice on stretches to improve deadlift form

    • starting strength seminar december 2024
    • starting strength seminar february 2025
    • starting strength seminar april 2025
    I watched Ripp's video and my only issue is I can't get my chest up with the bar on the floor. If I do something like this, where the bar is a little higher on a plate, I can get it up a bit more:


    Are there any stretches to correct this? Would pendlay rows be good?

    We'll really need to see a video. Wouldn't it be just as tough to get your back into extension for a barbell row as it is for a deadlift?

    Nope (for pendlays). Rather try RDLs.

    Yes. Deadlift more. I'm actually being serious.

    But we will need to see a video. I doubt you're incapable of getting into the right position...more likely your view of the right position is incorrect.
