Figure I may as well get a critique since I took the video yesterday. I appreciate the comments. Going for a BW clean Friday.

    Thanks

Not sure what to say about this one. I've seen plenty of people try and clean this way, but it's nowhere near the SS model. Anyone?

Definitely not how the SS model teaches the clean. No jump or explosion is present. Reps 1-4 lack a true rack position at the top. Your setup isn't the same as the SS model in terms of hip position.

I bet you'll hit the PR tomorrow, simply because the bar is so light for you, but this technique will need to be worked on for heavier loads.

You're not racking the clean. At all. The idea is to catch the bar in the rack position on your shoulders. Hips start too low, though they seem to end up in the right place right as you pull--but start with them higher. Then you end up doing a sort of reverse curl with some body English to cheat it up (IOW, bad arm-bend). You're not really jumping. Read the chapter again. Do the jumping drill. Post a deadlift video, too, since the pull from the floor should be the same for both movements.

And is it me, or are those not 45lb/25kg sized plates? If not, find something to place under those so you're pulling from the standard height.

Keep at it, and keep posting form checks and asking for help.

They are 45s, though they are probably not quite wide. This is my alternate gym as my kid didn't want to go to the regular gym. Friday I'll have bumpers so no worries there. Will go back to the book and re-read. I was rather lazy with the jump as the weight was so light. As my deadlift check previously mentioned my hips started low I'm guessing that is also at play with the cleans.

    Thanks again
