    Hello!
    Before I post my squat technique I wanted to give a small background:
    I had a meniscus tear and surgery four years ago and I made full recovery, after the recovery (which was about 4 months) my right foot(leg, hip) is just a little bit externally rotated(I have added a picture of my foots standing), and also developed a small disproportion between my two legs, been my left legs looking bigger. In squats, my right leg (and knee) is very uncomfortable squatting with my foot rotated forward, means I have to push it outward, and have to do the same with my left foot to be symmetric.
    Other than that...It's all good...:P

    Now my squat:



    I seem to be asymmetrical with my hip is too much on the left side, and knee seems to turn outward far more?

    Do you have to have your toes out that far? I think the toe angle is too big, unless you absolutely have to have it that wide because of injury considerations.

    I suspect the asymmetry will go away as you get stronger, but this might be a case where the ubiquitous mirrors aren't so bad. Look at your hips as you ascend, and make them not do the thing they are doing. It sounds simple, but the visual feedback should allow you to correct it. Note that normally we don't want you looking at a mirror like you are.

    Thank you for the fast comment. Well, yes about my toes. my right leg is extremely uncomfortable in angel which is not out, while my left is actually comfortable point either (or rather forward). They do look really wide in the rear view than in the front view though!
    I didn't understand your comment about the mirror and the hip, which thing? :P And why not look at the mirror?

    Have you read the book? You are supposed to look down at a point about 4 feet in front of your feet, because looking up has a negative effect on hip drive. Looking in a mirror is usually bad for your proprioception, your sense of where your body is in space. Your case might be a temporary exception. Look straight at your hips when you ascend out of the bottom of the squat, and if you see them shifting left, don't let them.

    Hi, yup I have' and am aware of that. Will try to look at my hip althought it seems as if I am destined to squat with my hip in that position rather than shifting to the left.
    Also, what are your opinions on this assymetrical? Could this hurt me in the future? And what about my knees? Is it really bad that they are pushed that far out? Thanks!
