Squat check - 290lb
I have been moving up nicely without fail so far, but the weight is getting really heavy and I'm coming close. I'm not sure how I'm doing on depth, since I've been going by feel mainly

I think I probably should go a little lower, but do I absolutely need to? It's really hard as it is, so is my depth acceptable?

Yes, you should go deeper. Crease of the hip below the top of the knee every time. The reasons for this are nicely detailed on pages 16 to 19 in the book. I should also note that you are performing a high bar squat. Have you read Starting Strength? If not, I would encourage you to do so. It is worth your time and your training will benefit from it.
