From my book "John Kuc Speaks on Powerlifting" John speaking about Jim Williams...

"There were times when Jim would finish his bench routine and walk up to an Olympic bar loaded at 405 pounds.
He would clean and press it in strict style with no warmup other than his bench pressing. The man had unparalleled upper body power."

Thanks for the heads up. It's been a while since a good t-bag nation article was posted.

This article sucks for me though, it made my programming adhd/ocd/add/whatever act up again. I've ditched pressing for a few months now. Tried to max out a few weeks ago just for shits and didn't lose strength. My bench has gone up and I didn't get injured too but still...fuck.

Good read. Is there a target % of BP that one's press "should" be?

Rip's article has reminded me how little I really care about benching.

Interesting, hadn't ever thought of press as a function of bpress before, least not in %s. came in at ~69% (giggity?).
