Squat tilt to the side serious question!
Hi mark,
BIG problem, I think i been squatting like this without realising it. I been injured 2months ago with 120kg squat. Injured my left lower back hips muscle, it was muscle sprain took a week to heal it. Could be the left tilt cause this.
Anyways I video myself and come across to notice bar is tilt to the left side, at the bottom of the hole my left pelvis is tilting to the left. I was focusing pushing the bar to the right side, trying to focus on this shit for nearly 3 hours light and heavy squat, still happaning. Been trying very hard not to let the bar go to the left while so much going on with squat with the cue chest up, kness out. im so FRUSTRATED!.
Been stretching million times, flexibilty is getting there which is great!.
Maybe im not build to squat. If this still happaning and cant be fix i dont think i will ever squat heavy, not risking getting injured.
Have a look at my air squat, you can see the hips is tilting to the left.

I don't really see that much wrong, but it could be the distance of the camera, the single camera angle, your clothing, or the lack of weight.

rip, i dont think is the camera angle distance, as i decent i can feel it to the left, it so odd.
I went to the gym the other day and record myself in front of the mirror squatting so i can be aware of the bar travel. They have a thick barbell rate at 1500lbs.
Everything seem find but just a little tilt no big deal i guess.
Now im at home squatting with no mirror, seem to be the problem again. Could it be the the cheap chinese barbell i have, is not as thick as the gym one. I tryed switching the barbell around, but still the same left tilt.
My left middle back muscle always been sore from the very start squatting in my life.

It may be that your right leg is shorter than the left. Get it measured.

I was watch your ss dvd again. The guy on the red top bar placement angle not even on his back, so you help him to adjust that. I think that could be me, possibility could cause this problem. I want to retry my next session see how it goes.
thanks for everything rip!

Is it just me, or does the bar look tilted a bit the way you have it across your delts?
-
Hey Rip,
If the bar tips to the left side wouldn't this suggest the right leg might be longer than the left?
-
I'm looking at his legs, not the bar. Bars lean for various reasons, not all of them important.
-
Further, a bar tipping to the side might be a reaction to the body shifting to the other. A bar rotating around its center of mass won't have any effect on the loading, but if the whole system's center of mass shifts towards one foot, that foot will bear a larger proportion of the load.
