Training in bare feet: a cautionary tale
Rip says to lift with shoes on, and I do 99.99% of the time. But I was lazy on Monday and benched with bare feet, on concrete, and ended up with a 1" long split in the skin of my right sole, where all of the leg drive force on that side was focused into about a 1" spot against the floor.
It's not terrible, but has cost me at least a day of training so far. Moral of the story: don't be a dumbass.
