I'll throw in a plug for the gym at which I have been a member for a little over a year. Legacy Barbell right on the edge of Spring / The Woodlands...quick search on the Google Maps machine shows a 40 minute drive from your area code.

Depending on where you work and your tolerance for the drive, the gym was a refreshing change from the Gold's Gym where I started my linear progression. Chalk provided, lots of iron, loud music, good community, and a great price.
