    Default Deadlift and 35 pound plates?

    Sort of a parallel question to my post on replacing my iron weights.
    Lots of folks have said that 35 pound sucks but I’m wondering if they making loading the bar easier for deadlifts. You toss two 45’s on the end and the 35’s can be added pretty quickly. Is there some trick to loading multiple plates on the floor sort of like a ramp or stand? Looking for a good reason not to get the 35’s and thinking about the quick loading I was talking myself back into the purchase.

    I bought a dead wedge last week for my wife (and me, when I can start deadlifting again). It's great. I only wish the entire bottom was filled, but I don't see this causing any problems. If it breaks in a couple years, I'll just get another. . . . It's much better than trying to get the bar to balance on a plate. The u shape in the wedge holds it without making it too hard to roll off when you are done. It's the best $18's I've spent on equipment.

    Change plate works fine too... Never used it for tha D tho

    Use a 10 lb. plate. Roll the bar onto it. This should elevate the bar enough for easy loading. Anything past that and I believe you're overthinking it and just need to muscle the plates on the bar. After all, we're in the gym to work.

    At the gym I lift at the only round plates are the 100# ones. So I put one on each end and then a 35#, so with the bar I get 315# and I get to deadlift with round plates, yeah.
