This a good exercise for warmup?

I've jumped rope forever. Curious if anyone else uses it for a pre-squat routine and if you've had success.

I think if you want to jump rope for 5-10 minutes to warm up, it won't negatively affect your squat.

I used to jump rope a lot during my Muay Thai days.

I guess if you were to jump rope for half hour like what they made us do, yes, it would affect your squat.

But 5-10 minutes to get the blood flowing? I can't see how it'd affect your squat in a huge way...

Nah. I've used jump rope as a warmup for years.

5 minutes as a general warm up. I don't see a direct warmup benefit specific to squats. my squat warmup is 10 lunges each side than a few body weight squats stretches holding the power rack upright while I sit in the hole as a stretch than squatting with the bar for 20 reps.
