I usually eat a Banana and an Orange before I lift... gives me enough energy to last through each workout.
Otherwise, it's just plenty of water. I can end up drinking about 2 liters of water during the session.
This was hard to search for, so I'm going to ask. If it's been asked before, link me.
What do you all eat or drink at the gym to keep your energy going? I used to have my gym's big blended fruit shakes until I started my cut. Now, already on somewhat limited carbs, those aren't an option.
A guy at my gym is pitching Dextrose during workouts. Another guy here said dark chocolate.
What's your approach?

Nothing. I drink a half gallon or so of water while I'm there, but I don't eat anything. I usually grab a chocolate milk at the store on my way home.
I don't eat or drink anything but water right now, but as I start lifting heavier I can see that I may need something. I was thinking a 50/50 mix of water and orange juice to start with.
I usually drink over 2 liters of water at gym, 3 liters is the most I've drank in a 50 minute session.
I just drink water.

I drink a BCAA shake. I have no idea if it actually helps me with protein synthesis, but in the past if I've stayed at the gym for a long time (ie, climbing following lifting), I've bought those overpriced Naked drinks to get some goodies into my body after lifting. Now I just use BCAAs and it's something like 40x cheaper.
