Ok...does anyone have experience training at high altitude? I just moved to Colorado Springs and I already feel like crap.and haven't done anything yet.

Springs is about 6000 feet. My place is at 9300. So yes, I have some experience with it. It sucks real bad at first, and then it gets a little better.

    My recommendation:

Drop your reps and sets initially, but keep intensity up.

After a week or two add your sets back.

Add reps back over the next month or so.

The timecourse may be longer if you're using higher rep sets or if you're already real strong.

It takes approximately 1 week for every 1k feet change in altitude to adjust. Based on “the Literature” and practical experience going from DC (essentially sea or swamp level) to Afghanistan (roughly 6500 to 7000 feet above sea level) repeatedly .

So I got my first workout in today. I cut reps and sets for squat and DL and I'm glad I did. BP was fine as normally prescribed.
