Cool Training Deadlift and Squats once every two weeks

    Dear Mr. Rippetoe,

I hope this message reaches you well.

    What is your opinon of the following;

    Week A

    Monday; Powerclean
    Wednesday: OHP
    Friday; Deadlift

    Week B

    Monday; Powerclean
    Wednedsay: Bench
    Friday; Squat

Would it be better to drop the deadlift and work the squat each friday, or vice versa? Is squatting every second week an improbable solution? Is bench every second week dumb?

The intensity for each squat and deadlift session would be extreme. (1x2 @>90% 1rm, 8x3@>70% 1rm (60 second rest), 5x10@ 50% 1rm (60 second rest)

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

    Kind regards,

The goal is to increase my 1RM. Increase power, but also fit in 3 conditioning days (Prowler 3 sets x 4 20 metre runs) a week, which I found too hard to do on SS.

I was wondering if I should drop the OHP and Deadlift and focus on the Squat and Bench for ten weeks, and then drop the Squat and Bench and focus on the OHP and Deadlift for 10 weeks, or run both over a 20 week period.

You know, there may be a reason for that. Rip's the one who puts threads there.

Hmm... well, why not ask Rip whether squatting once every *three* weeks would work? I bet nobody has asked that question before, so you're guaranteed not to end up in Repetitive Inquiries with that one.

I have recently started rotating my Squats and Deadlifts. On Saturday I Squat one week and Deadlift the next.
Tuesday is my Squat/Deadlift assistance day. My favorite assistance exercise is the Zercher Squat.
I feel stronger and more recovered Squatting and Deadlifting every other week.
