Coaching SS part time?

I'm strongly considering doing a seminar for personal reasons, mainly for quality coaching and to help my education and motivation so I can intelligently continue the program for years to come.

Is it common for people to do a seminar and then pursue coaching as a part-time option?

I have no plans to leave my day job, but my thought process was if I do the seminar why not work harder and try for the certification?

Virtually all coaches started part-time and moved into the profession full-time as business allowed.
