Hi, helping my friend out on her squats. She's complaining that her left hip flexor hurts when she squats. Thought it might be the femur getting pinched so I asked her to externally rotate her feet and knees more but it didn't help. She's used to a HBBS (doesn't hurt her hip flexors but noticed that her knees cave in and her weight shifts to the front of her foot in the hole). Tried switching her to a LBBS, the video shows the progression. She squats a tad deep; it hurts a lot more if she uses the depth as described in the book so she prefers going deeper.

Appreciate the comments and advice. Thanks!

Her depth is fine on those squats. She's not crashing into the bottom. However, her knees continue to move forward for the full duration instead of getting in place by about half way down. That may be irritating her hip. Have her get the knee in front of the toe earlier in the movement and keep it there. Have her keep her torso rigid. Don't overextend on the ascent.

Will let her know and see how it goes. Thanks for the help Tom.
