Barbell sleeves don't rotate
I moved to a gym near my house. Everything was fine until i found out that the sleeves of the bar didn't rotate, they are fu***** welded. So i tried to squat, and i couldn't get the bar at the right position without my wrists bending and even doing that it was difficult, but i still kept squatting, bench hurted at the bottom, deadlifts were harder, etc. I had already payed 13 dollars in mexican currency (where i live) but i don't think i should keep going there. My other option is a gym which i have been attended for a few weeks, it has decent bars, but plates too tall and a little lighter, they are rubber plates. The problem with that gym are: the squat area is covered by child mats, yeah,it sucks, the plates are taller than they probably should be for deadlifts and in general i don't like the ambient, is a bro-gym. That's the reason i moved out a week before my month was completed, and also the music sucks. About a home gym, the power rack and plates can get too expensive, plus importation and i can't pay all the money needed for a home gym. Where should i go?

A better gym. Seems rather obvious.

Well, it is true. Unfortunately i only have those two realistic options at the time
I'm assuming that the best of those two is the one with big plates and low quality floor mats. But i wonder, is a child mat floor that bad? Probably it really is, considering the importance of the floor in the system of the lifter/barbell. Would it prevent me from big strength gains? Sorry for bothering, Mr. Rippetoe. If i could, i would just go to a SS gym. Sadly, it isn't possible. Meanwhile i'll look for less shitty options...

Maybe you're not thinking hard enough about these options. Stand on a shim when you deadlift that makes up for the extra diameter of the plates.
