Anyone use Kinovea software or BarSense app to successfully measure bar speed?
What are some other Tendo alternatives?

I have high hopes for this:

I've been waiting on my preorder since Aug.

Once I get it, I'll compare the data against the Tendo & report onthe forum.

Fascinating. I know that Mike Tuscherer tracks this kind of data, and I think (don't quote me on this) Eric Talmant as well.

Of all the big names in powerlifting, I bet Tuchscherer is correctly spelled the least often.

Can you not just measure the distance between in your ROM or stand next to a marked out scale.

make video, then divide distance travelled by time taken?

Sure. Not very practical though. And what about acceleration?

Why? Guys like you and me don't need to know the speed, just whether the figure is positive or negative

Speed can't be negative. You're thinking of velocity.

Bar speed is supposed to be the more accurate gauge of fatigue rather than the subjective RPE. The more accurate you can get with gauging fatigue, the more accurate you can be with proper volume accumulation. And we all know volume=gainzZz.
