    Default Regarding the abdominal intensity article by you aand Mr Kilgore.

    • starting strength seminar october 2024
    • starting strength seminar december 2024
    • starting strength seminar february 2025
    The one which bascially instructs you to do crunches whilst holding a barbell.
    Well I am somehow doing these with 50kg now and I'm worried it's starting to overtrain my shoulders. I'm doing madcow 5x5 intermediate as of recently.

    Should I do a different ab exercise? Thankyou.

    Not to answer for Dr. Kilgore, but as a general rule, if an assistance exercise is interfering with your ability to perform the core lifts (benching/pressing in this case) then you need to scrap them or modify them in some way to where they are actually helping you. This generally involves adjusting the volume, intensity, or frequency with which you are doing the exercise.
