just curious on the thoughts and technical data of extended break after hitting a reset in your lifts while being on ss,

if you take say 8 weeks off, maybe even 12. is it highly recommended to start everything at very low again like squats at 85lbs etc etc and ramp up? ? or do you gusy feel you can get back into heavy lifts sooner do to muscle memory?

like if i finished at 300lb squat, took 2 months off. gained an addition 20 pounds from my last body weight i squatted 300 at. Should i reset at 85 and start all over or should i be aiming higher?

    thanks in advance!!!

Covered in pp if the trainee takes multiple weeks of detraining occurs from a lack of stress. He/she should start with a novice program again untill their previous strength returns. Any muscle or strength lost will return fairly quick through muscle memory

So yeah start out low again... How low idk 85 lbs on the squat seems pretty damn low though

You should start low to avoid massive DOMS.

If I were in your situation I would start quite low, lower than I think I could start and go up in 10 lbs jumps until that got too hard and then move to 5 lbs jumps.

exactly what i was thinking, cause in teh start there will be minor doms, so get that out of teh way and work back up. I know bench will be easy, bench never seems to be hard to pick up where i left off. curious how well my deadlift would bounce back thou

I've just restarted after 2 months of non training, and believe me, you'll need a deload. On the 1st workout I did a set with 45, than went to 95 and then, I tried getting to 135 lbs, but after 5 reps, it was hurting like a mofo for 2 days (even though it was more than doable). So I stopped there, and did 135 again in the next workout for 3x5, and it was fine, no major doms, or anything. So yes you'll need a major deload, but you can add some good weights fast in a couple of weeks.

20lbs weight gain in 2 months without trying. Wow.

Per Rip, strength gains are much more enduring than cardiovascular gains. I don't think you need a huge deload. I didn't. Deload to 250lbs or something.
