Squat reset when moving to advanced novice ?
I failed to complete my last 2 squat sets last week.
First failure 5/5/2 on Wednesday, second failure on Friday 2/0/0.
I've been grinding squats for about two weeks, so I'm planning on introducing a light squat session from next Wednesday.
Given the above 2 consecutive squat session failures, I'm not sure whether to try the same weight again on Monday and introduce the light squat on Wednesday based on my current working weight, or apply a 10% reset on Monday with light squat on Wednesday, based on the reset weight.
I think the combination of a 10% reset on Monday, followed by 80% of the reset weight on Wednesday, will lead to detraining.
I'd appreciate any guidance.
Thanks.

Returning to training after cv19 enforced layoff.
BW 84kg, height 5ft9.
Calorie intake ~3000.
For background health reason, which doesn't affect training medical advice is not to increase bw significantly.
Sleep good, stress levels reasonable work/life balance.
I appreciate the bw limitation means I'm not going to get optimum results.
Current working weights for SS sets:
Sqt 122.5kg, DL 145, bench 87.5, press 45.
Resting 10min between sets.
I've been adding 1.25kg each workout.

Perhaps the background health reason is interfering with your progress.

Definitely worth confirming this, but no, my doctor is sure.
Only recently received my bench, so have only been bench pressing for 3 weeks.
Couldn't manage first set of squats today, so completed all sets with a 10% reset.

Well, after all, he IS a doctor.
