Squats do not gas me but deadlifts...
wear me straight the hell out for the whole day.
I know that squats are the key to systemic growth, but after squat day, I feel fresh as a daisy within 3 hours of training whereas deadlifts gas me for the whole day.
Same level of intesity. Same level of effort. Not the same level of perceived load on my system.
Anyone else feel the same or does a good squat day fry you for the day?
-
A couple of times I've felt fried for pretty much the rest of the day after Volume Day squats, but yeah, generally deadlifts will take more out of you.
-
I had gas this morning and almost blew it out....
Ohh, not that type of "gas".
On topic:
Maybe I'm not up to the weights all of you are but, I feel better the rest of the day that I workout than when I don't work out.
-
Squats kill me in the face. But I can back squat more than I deadlift. I might be back to even now.
-
Squats don't gas you? How much are you squatting?
-
I don't squat much (just failed getting 285 for 3x5 for the second time) but still, I usually feel worn out, and even sleepy, after I squat (it lasts a while, too). Deadlifts kill me too, but somehow, it is different (I don't feel like taking a nap after deadlifting).

Here is where I am. Looooooong layoff. Today, I did 5x5 of 315. Dropped down to 225 for a silly little set of 15 just to put the finishing touch on everything.

Squats gas me but I feel like I recover fairly fast. Deadlifts gas me but then even the next day my entire posterior chain just feels bunt out.

Deadlifted Mon Evening, came home from work on Tues for lunch, lay down and fell asleep for the afternoon,
if I keep this up I'll be out of a job. Weird thing is the deadlift is so easy for me compared to the squat, i'm
sure being tall doesn't help.

Whities,
Firing compressed gas out of your backside to get out of the hole is not part
of the program. It's called cheating. Re-read the book.
