It's been a while since I posted here but I got my training sorted (Westside) and started Strongman training in October 2012.

Since then I have competed three times placing 6th, 4th and finally winning a national comp (novice level).

I'm now stepping up into the Open level and am sponsored by Highland Nutrition in the UK.

Everything happened for me with Starting Strength
when I first started out a couple of years ago and I wanted to share the news with you guys. I got all kinds of help with my squat form and it caused me to go and look at myself, grow some balls and get on with working hard. I haven't been asking endless questions because ultimately it was for me to find my own way.

But a big thank you for SS and for providing much needed inspiration without perhaps realising it Mark.

105kg log floor to overhead for reps within 60 seconds - first place with 6 reps

115kg farmer's walk for 20m - third place (not sure on time)

225kg oly bar deadlift within 60 seconds - second place with 9 reps

270kg yoke - first place with 13.2 seconds (2nd place was 18.5 seconds so I smashed this one)

2 ton 4x4 car arm over arm car pull - second place (not sure on time)

    Thanks Mark. Much appreciated.

The name is Vaughan by the way... or, as everyone else calls me, Vinny.

For some reason I chose my middle name as a username. Regrets ever since.

Stay strong! You have a lot of respect over here in the UK.
