    Hi,

I already posted this on the Technique section, but I'm also interested what the Staff has to say about my last set of squats today.

You can watch them here (same set, two different angles):

It seems like I'm arching my back pretty much.

You are correct in that you are overextending your spine. You are also leading with your chest. Get tight at the top and drive your hips up. Instead of arching so hard with your back, focus on not letting your torso move during the squat. Otherwise, it is not too bad. Depth was good.

Thank you for the kind words. That's kind of motivating.

I did not notice that I was leading with my chest. I think the reason could be that the moment I start the upwards movement I think I'm falling over the direction I'm facing. I have yet to figure that out.
Maybe it'll help imagining Rip yelling "HIP DRAAHV" at me.
I'll record my next workout on Friday and I'm certain I'll do better.

I don't know whether it's the sun shining today, imagining Rip standing in my back, staring me down and yelling "HIP DRAAAHVE" or just the milk. But today's training was great.

Squats felt better and easier today, even though I increased the weight. I think I finally figured out the hip drive. At least I hope you can confirm that.
Again, same set, two different angles.

    Would greatly appreciate a response.

Drive your knees out a little more and slow your descent. You are using your hips better, but you want to be in better control. The reason the weight feels lighter is because the weight is still so light compared to what you can do.
