Anyone around here training with heart hardware?
Hi, my friend and lifting partner could use a deadlift form check:

Also, he has a pacemaker/defibrillator implant which he recieved last year after fainting and getting tachycardia (I'm not sure if the two events were related). Recently, his cardiologist has raised some concerns with the kind of strength-training we (my friend and I) are doing. Particularly of concern is the notion of the implant wires being knocked loose by the barbell exercises, as my friend puts it. Is there any merit to this? Or are there any other things to consider? I will give more information as needed. The stories/experiences of those in the same situation will be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Once the shins touch the bar, don't drop the hips. Lift the chest and pull smoothly off the floor. There's a bit of a jerk off the floor that looks like it's making your butt shoot up and the rest of the lift a stiff legged deadlift. Squeeze the bar off the floor and keep the bar in contact with the shins/thighs the whole way up.
