So yesterday i sold my 10 KG Rogue Junior to a fellow member here on SS forum for $100. I think for $100 he got his money's worth, as it was basically in the same condition as i received it in new a few months ago, however, i personally never liked this bar.
As soon as i unboxed this bar, here on YouTube:

I knew it wasn't very good. But i was optimistic and figured that i would only use it a few times to work out, quickly progress to 20 KG bar and from that point on use it only for a set or two of warm up, so i figured - it will be good enough. This bar was significantly cheaper than alternatives from GP Industries, Pendlay and Eleiko so i figured i will suffer with it.
However i found myself using a 10 KG bar a lot more than i expected ...
The problems i had with this bar i actually noted right in the unboxing video:
Problem 1 - the Knurl is just about nonexistent. it's basically flat.
Problem 2 - the ribbing on the sleeves is atrocious. i thought well, who cares right ? but a week ago or so i got these plates:
http://youtu.be/691tFKLviOs
and they are extremely tight fitting ones, and i could barely get to go on those ribbed sleeves. i knew then it was time to sell the bar because if i kept using the plates on it they would strip the zinc coating from those ribs that kept catching on them. a few days later the bar was sold.
NOW ...
i need a new one.
ones i'm looking at so far:

so originally i just wanted basically any bar as long as it was 10 kg. now i want a bar that's actually good, and still 10 kg. also specifically i want one where i can easily fit a very tight plate on it, which means no Rogue type ribbing and no York type split sleeves.
the bar HAS TO be 10 kg. all my weights are in KG, i already have a 5KG bar and i plan to eventually get a 20KG one so 10KG is the only thing that makes sense to have in between those two.
any thoughts, suggestions ?

I'm leaning towards the Pendlay Bearing 10 KG ... if it is available.
I really don't want to take too long with this decision because i have nothing to workout with while i'm deciding ...
are there any other alternatives ?
D.b.a.p.
I would have, but you beat me to the suggestion...
The 11.33kg bushing bar is available at mdusa. It (everything) is 20% off right now ($240), but only until 9am. I don't know what time zone. I would think Eastern, but who knows. The promo code is: may20

The 10kg bushing bar is listed as in stock at neptune barbell
Bearings in a 10kg bar? Why? I'm curious, are you going to buy a 15kg bar too?

Why not use a broom? Or a rope?
Honestly man you are wasting your money. Get a real bar, the 10 kg ones are utter garbage
I write this to help you
Rehab from Injuries ?
Warmup ?
Practicing movements i haven't previously tried ?
Teaching girls, children and / or parents ?
it's also more convenient in a confined space to have a shorter bar, and it's faster to slide plates on and off without extra sleeve length, especially when you have tight fitting plates.
a 10 KG bar is no substitute for a 20 KG bar of course, but it is far from useless.

You have to admire his dedication to trolling, actually buying and "unboxing" all manner of useless shit that we can rip on him for owning. I mean, what adult male ever has an actual need for a 10kg bar or an aluminum kettlebell? Even my completely out of shape wife pressed 45lbs for 3x5 the first time she ever lifted.
Found another alternative - a 10 KG Bushing Werksan for $345. This is same price more or less as GP Industries or Pendlay bars.
http://www.werksanusa.com/Silver-Bar...nfo/SILVERBAR/
The difference is with GP and Pendlay you're supposedly getting a full quality bar, whereas with Werksan it's a 3rd tier bar as they have their Training, their Gold and this is a Silver, so it's two steps down from their full quality bar.
Any thoughts ?
