mark do you think that the push press is a good exercise for developing explosive power that can correlate to a better vertical jump?

through squatting and deadlifting alone without any other skill training like plyos (I only did SS), my vertical jump increased by 2-3 inches even though i gained 35lbs with the patented novice flab around the waist and my sprinting speed increased as well. so i'm gonna thank you for this and it further validates that strength besides skill is the best attribute for sports.

i am not substituting this for cleans as i will continue to do them. i am just wondering if it will be of any help to my vertical jump for my basketball games.

Get your squat up to 405 and ask fewer silly questions on this forum.

Why do I get the feeling there's no right answer to some of Rip's questions?

    "How much do you squat?"
    "1200 lbs"
"Get back to me when you're up to 1500, you pussy"

His question was: "do you think that the push press is a good exercise for developing explosive power that can correlate to a better vertical jump?"

Do you think there's a right answer to that?

    Rip,

I'm trying to increase my press. Do you think that squat jumps can help?

    Thanks
