    Rip,

I posted this on another thread but I would like to ask you personally about my squats.

    Warm up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUE323sGUN4

    PR: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlRrt1URcHk

Is there anything terribly wrong with them? I know that I'm not hitting parallel on most reps, but that's because I fear my back is rounding too much. Can you point out to me which rep in which video is the best looking one?

I've read Active Hip and I stretch the shit out of my self every other day and nothing seems to be helping. I can touch my palms to the floor, also.

    Thanks a lot.

You have read AH, but you have not comprehended it, apparently. The part about "knees-out", "flexibility not determining depth", "rebounding" out of the "bottom", etc. And your stance is too wide, and you're not looking down. And the bar may be too high.

So narrow my stance, look down, and place the bar lower. I'll keep that in mind.

You know when you do a goblet squat and shove the knees out with your elbows? It hurts when I do that. Does that mean I should work on flexibility?

    Thanks again.

No, I don't know anything about shoving the knees out with the elbows. It's not really part of the method we teach here, you know. Have you read the book?

Yes I've read the book, at least everything dealing with squats. I've also watched all your videos and videos by other coaches, which must be where I got the "shove knees out with elbows" from. I suspect I have tight adductors since it's painful to do this movement.

Quite a bit better, but you need to control your breathing better during the reps.

Glad to hear it. Yeah, I see what you mean about the breathing, it's all over the place. Will work on that.

    Thanks once again!
