For those in the market for a single ply leather belt
I recently purchased a 6.5mm leather belt from a company online. Here is the link:

I ordered the XL but I had to send it back as it was too big. Its cool that they have options to treated or untreated leather, stitched or unstitched, double or single prong, tapered or round tongue. Definitely a "vintage" style belt and its made in Texas!

Does Dean Best not offer a plain leather belt? And is the difference in the "treated" vs "untreated" belt in the tanning of the leather or the neatsfoot oil in the shop?
-
I don't know about how they treat the leather. I chose treated because I didn't want to condition it myself. I don't want it to look like my boots.

It seems like they are a little more expensive than Best for a comparable belt, and with Best you send them your exact measurement for a perfect fit. Don't get me wrong, these look like good quality belts, but it seems like Best is offering a little better value.

Any belt you buy that is not suede should be oiled occasionally, whether you want to or not. And for the best value, my money will be on Best.

This is for a single ply leather belt. These were harder to find, but several companies are making them now. There have been several posts about people looking for one and I believe Rip mentioned in his book about a single ply belt would work just fine. I'm only suggesting that if someone is in the market for one, this is the cheapest and it's free shipping. The thin leather belt is $52-57, which is actually less than $82, what Best Belts charge for a 10mm belt. There are actually cheaper 10mm belts out there.
