I'd suggest buying your own spring clamps and over a few days forcing them closed with a brace between the handles; this may gain enough tightness for you not to worry.
Alternatively, there are inexpensive clamps with rubber padding inside.
The gym I go to has a SS squat bar that is slightly under size. The clamps at the gym all slide, even if I double them up. I noticed this at another gym on another SS bar as well.
It is nominally a bar for Olympic plates, but seems to be a few thousandths undersized diameter.
Anyway, I'm looking for a recommendation on a set of clamps that can accommodate a slightly undersized. Any suggestions? Thanks.

SS = Safety Squat not Starting Strength. I should have been more clear.
Sort of like this:

Titan Fitness Safety Squat 2” Olympic Plate Weightlifting Bar 700lb Max, Fitness
If your gym has spring collars they are pretty much worthless and buying your own pair is necessary.
I have these and they fit pretty tight:
OSO Mighty Collars | Rogue Fitness
Rogue sells “axle collars” specifically to fit undersized 1.9” bars. Rogue HG 2.0 Axle Collars | Rogue Fitness
I bought a pair for my Crepinsek safety squat bar and they work well.
yeah, the common acronym is SSB for Safety Squat Bar.
I guess this is common, most of your specialty bars, the sleeves are made of standard metal pipe-sized material.
Pipe manufacturers, being more concerned around the ID of the pipe.
The the OD's wind up being weird nonsensical dimensions,
so SSBs, axle bars, yoke bars, camber bars, etc the sleeves wind up being small.
Its not the 'cheap' collars; its the bar.
Funny, I've seen a lot of people just use woodworking quick-clamps for collars are crossfit boxes.
Collars with a screw-down clamp will work.
I'm not saying get these, but these type will work (and will work on any bar for that matter):

Any screw type collar should work for bars that are slightly undersized.
