    Question End of Linear progression?

Hi yall.. My question is it time for me to switch from Starting Strength to the Texas method..
Im 5'11" sit about 240 pounds.
    current 3x5 lifts
    Squat: 415
    Bench 320
    OHP: 170
    Conventional dead:425, sumo is 355

For squat I have not "failed" but for the last two 5lb jumps it takes 1-2 retries before i get the full 3x5. I am using a ligth squat day on Wednesdays.
Any and all responses are welcomed as to if I should continue grinding the linear progression in the form of SS or move on to TM with better results..

    Thank you!

I love seeing people with results like this. Very well done. You are probably very close to the end of your novice phase. There are still a couple of things you can do to milk it further. Incorporate back off sets instead of sets across. For squats this would mean 1 set of 5 at 415 then 2 sets at 80-90 percent of that weight. For the upper body lifts, you can move to 5 sets of 3 or 3 sets of 3 depending on how you respond to lower/more volume. Once you do that, you are set to go to intermediate programming. Texas Method is a risky proposition. It has a reputation of being too brutal for most. the 4 day texas method or HLM tend to be recommended. Or The Bridge.

I think I will do that to probably milk about another month of this linear progression. Everything feels good but deadlifts today at 425 felt terrible, I think so extra accessory or deadlift work is in order due to my squat only being 10 pounds behind my deadlift. Any advice on that? I have recored my squat and its too depth, I just never feel comfortbale or confident in my conventional deadlfit.

That's an awesome LP! I had good success going to 3x3 for all lifts except for DL to extend LP. What Dalton said is good advice as well.

This is because deadlifts suck. And they suck for everybody. An individual who generally likes performing heavy deadlifts is a unicorn and they should be captured for further study.

IMO, I would suggest not milking it further. I tried doing the same, it was a waste of time. Better to get a handle on intermediate now.

If anyone is still following this.. I tested maxes yesterday before moving on to Andy Bakers KSC Texas method and they were as following
Squat: 435 (good), 455(good), 495 (had it outta the whole, got pushed forward and missed)
Bench: 315(good), 335(good), 350(good) - for bench I probably had about 365 in me but I was very happy with 350
    Deadlift: 455(good), 475(good), 505(good)

I guess trust the process, I have added deficit pulls which I believe to be the reason for the deadlift progress. On to a new program!

Serious man.. Nice work! I sure hope you're 23 years old or something. Lol. Good luck with Andy's KSC Texas Method. Great choice to go with Mr. Baker.
